August 20 - Update

August 20, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

We are grateful to know you are standing with us! What a blessing to know your thoughts for us are going up. Since the 16th that has been more important than you know, so if “something” put you on your knees with urgency, know that was needed. We are fine and not in danger. A few of our caregivers are unhappy and are being rather vocal about it. The leadership is in negotiations with them. There are some hot words being said by the one side that cause us to be more cautious at this time. In saying this we also ask you to be extra careful with the “words” you send to us. Please lift up our children and that their feelings of security and love will be strong from those who are caring for them. We know who will win this battle! We are reminded that we make our best plans and then He directs our steps from chapter 16 of one of the “P” books. Our leader on the ground said please ask that the caregiver’s hearts will like to be here and they will understand the purpose of SFCV, to love and give the best care to these children. We’ve decided we are going to start studying Tai Chi so we will be more flexible;0) James 1 from 2 to 4 has good words for right now. He’s sure “developing” us!

A team from near our home came and blessed us with gifts from the US. They were very creative in having a VBS without the “B” and we appreciated their flexibility (they must have already studied Tai Chi!) and support during a more difficult time. Some special young people were in this group, the Father is working on hearts!

It has cooled some since our last letter, the humidity seems to be higher some days. Last night we had a good rain, that means it came down in buckets! Autumn is here they say, we’re just waiting for it to feel like it!

We were encouraged recently by a visit with our head teacher. She is a tiger and fiercely loves her children! She has been here for over 5 years and can’t imagine teaching anywhere else. She translates many of the “B” stories when the guests tell them and has heard that message many times. She expressed how she loves the people telling these stories and understood the messages told last week by the team and what they meant even though they were different from our usual “B” stories. She is so close! Keep lifting her name up please. We want Him to be the victor in her life!

The primary class garden produce has slowed way down but they have planted some quicker growing things in place of the cucumbers and some beans. Radishes are up, they have the red radish but also a much larger version that is green, about 8 inches in diameter and has a heavier consistency, they even cook it. It’s tougher to eat but tastes like a radish.

Please lift up these requests:

  • An answer about Grady’s surgery or other options for surgery.
  • Wisdom to help our kids who have chosen Him to grow.
  • Phillip and Joseph, our 11 year olds, to be adopted soon.
  • Wisdom for our leaders, for the words to be used and peace to be over all.
  • Our Ayi’s, for an awesome love for our children to overwhelm them every day.

Big thanks for:

  • Friends and family who are faithful to remember to lift us up, you bless us!
  • Lucas’ family hopes to complete his adoption in 6 to 8 months!
  • A Father who directs our every path!

We love you!
